Since 2008, Chris Ledford has served as a state-certified firefighter for the City of Fort Worth, Texas. He helps protect the residents of Forth Worth by putting out fires, providing emergency medical care, and responding to such incidents as car crashes and power outages,. Currently studying toward a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry at the University of North Texas, Chris Ledford holds an associate of science in liberal arts from North Lake College and maintains national EMT Basic registration.
Formerly, Chris Ledford spent much of his time off-duty working as a contractor for the Texas firefighter-run moving service Firefighting’s Finest Moving and Storage. He currently helps support the community-based programs run by Goodwill Industries as a volunteer at the local Goodwill thrift store. Once each year, he also participates in the Big Russian, an annual basketball game put on by public servants to raise money for charitable causes.
Among his personal pursuits, Mr. Ledford aspires to visit every Major League Baseball venue. Thus far, he has attended games at nearly half of the league’s ballparks. He played basketball in high school and continues to stay physically active by running and engaging in fitness programs like Beachbody. Over the course of 2016, he intends to run a total of 100 kilometers, and he uses the app MapMyRun to keep track of his ongoing progress.
